#SatSpanks Will She Say Yes?

It's Saturday so that means another snippet from Lady Katherine's Comeuppance. In this scene, Lady Katherine has holed up in her room after the humiliation of scandal has ruined her reputation. In her misery, Thomas comes to console her.

His hand cupped the side of her face and his blue eyes gazed into hers with genuineness. “Please allow me to tell you how profoundly sorry I am for what has happened; it is entirely my fault.” His thumb stroked along her jawline. “I had resolved upon my return to treat you like the lady I know you to be,” he shook his head in dismay, “but as soon as I saw you, my resolve disappeared. And now you must pay the price for my abhorrent behavior. Please forgive me.”

“Please, Katherine, marry me. Be my wife.”

She steeled herself to refuse him, but his lips touched her temple, then her eyelids, skimmed across her jawline and finally settled over her mouth in a tender caress. His arms held her securely against his chest and she could feel his heartbeat through the thickness of the bedclothes which surrounded her.

When his mouth released hers, she sighed, rested her head on his shoulder and said, “Yes.”

  1. Aww. Katherine is going to get her old title back. That doesn't happen very often. However, I want to know how they got caught. Guess I need to read the book. Great snippet, Celeste.
