Unicorns and Other Oddities

Renee Rose was kind enough to include me in her posse for the The Meta Awesome Blog Unircorn.

Renee's post about Unicorns was certainly enlightening and I may never look at those fanciful animals the same way again.

When I think of Unicorns, this song is what comes to mind. Give it a listen and you'll be humming it all day.

Here are the award rules:

1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog.
2. Answer 10 questions you have about yourself.
3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs you enjoy. Or you pick the number.
4. Pay the love forward: Provide your nominee’s link in your post and comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been included and invited to participate.
5. Pay the love back with gratitude and a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you.
Since I like to put my own spin on things, instead of answering 10 questions about myself, I thought I'd share a story. Cara Bristol interviewed me for her blog and one of the questions had to do with how I got started writing spanking fiction. You'll have to go to her blog to read my answer, but it had to do with my mother. A couple of readers wanted more details, so I thought I'd include this funny story about my parents.
When my first story was published on Discipline and Desire my mother subscribed to the site and later told me that she read the story aloud to my father---blow job scene and all. TMI for sure!
What this story (and the one on Cara's blog) tell me is not that my parents are wild and sexually adventuresome (I really don't think they are and I want to continue thinking that) but, that in all things, whether it was sitting through horrible band concerts when I was in seventh grade or going through law school as a single mother,  they are supportive of me and will do whatever it takes to help me succeed.
And...they are funny as hell.
Blog nominations---I feel funny picking out favorites so I'll just send you to my blog roll since that's where I go to find my favorite blogs too.
Thanks for the nomination, Renee. And now I'll have to get that unicorn song out of my head.

  1. Well I am not sure my mom would go there even if I wrote a story. Discipline and Desire is where I first read your stories! I still belong!

    1. My parents don't know about mine either. This all happened several years ago when I first started writing and before the blog. I haven't mentioned it to them recently...somehow it just doesn't come up in that many conversations. LOL

  4. I made a comment about trying to get something published in front of my m-i-l and she told me to tell her when. WHOOPS. Never in a million trillion years. I think it's sweet that your parents support you. :)
