Spanking Stories Book Club Desire In Any Language Final Discussion

It's the final discussion for Desire in Any Language by Anastasia Vitsky

Let's think back to our very first discussion of this book when we talked about our experiences and attitudes toward F/F spanking fiction. If you would like to refresh your memory, you can find that discussion here.

Now that we've finished this book (you have finished, right?) what do you think?

If this was your first experience reading F/F, how did it measure up to your expectations?

Are you more or less likely to read other F/F as a result?

Any other thoughts/comments on the book?

Remember that next week we will begin our discussion of Jade Cary's To Love A Woman

  1. First of all, I'm looking forward to discussing Jade's book (minus the sex scenes).

I do hope that more people will be willing to read F/F after this...I hope I haven't scared anyone away. :)

  2. This was my second book with F/F, both books having been written by Ana. It is not typically my thing, M/F is my preference. But I have to say that I did thoroughly enjoy both books and will certainly read Ana's future books as well because they are well written. I don't think I will go looking for more F/F books but who knows what will happen if one sparks my interest.

Great job Ana! I am looking forward to your next release!!

    1. Thank you so much, SH! March 6th is when The Way Home finally comes out...it's been a long, long wait! (And then April 10th for Simple Gifts and May 15th for "Tomorrow" in the DD anthology by Lazy Day and June 6th for the sequel to The Way Home...)

      But March 6th. Yeah. :D

Thank you so much for joining in the discussion!

  3. Oh yes...I am more likely to read more F/F after reading Desire in Any Language. Ana has me fantasizing about my very own Oni.

    1. Oh, hooray!! Does that mean you'll give writing F/F a try, too? Pretty please?

I shall see what I can do about getting you an Oni. :D

  4. I'm totally down with F/F. Writing an F/F scene into my western as we speak...

    1. Um. Did you really need to talk about going down?

    3. I only said that because Minelle made such a big deal out of my not knowing it!

  5. I thoroughly enjoy FF.. A good love story is compelling. The emotional connection and good conflict are the draw.
A story that is well written is worth it's weight in gold!

    1. And love can come in so many forms.

  6. I really saw this as a book about friendship, almost like Beaches or Fried Green Tomatoes. Even if someone doesn't typically read F/F, I think she would enjoy this book.

    1. That's how I describe The Way Home, a Beaches with spanking. I wish we had more examples of stories about women's friendship.

    2. There's a lot of speculation that Fried Green Tomatoes was an F/F love story, but you have to read between the lines to see it. I've read it twice and I'm still not sure what I think.

    3. Yes, Saranna, I got that too, from Fried Green Tomatoes.

    4. I haven't read Fried Green Tomatoes. Maybe that can be a book club selection!
