I Got Liebstered!

Thanks so much to spanking romance author, Katherine Deane for nominating me for this award and for her awesome questions. You can read Katherine's Liebster award post here.
For future Liebster Award recipients, here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
  2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
  3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
  4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
  5. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)
  6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
  7. List these rules in your post. Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
  8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

Here are the questions Katherine gave me to answer:
  1.  When did you start blogging and why? I started blogging in January, 2012 because I decided to get back into writing spanking stories. I had no idea what an adventure it would turn into.
  2. How often do you blog, and what about? My goal is to post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Fridays I host the Spanking Stories Book Club on my blog which is either a post by me or someone else. Other posts are either something about what I'm writing, someone else's book or random ideas that I think might be of interest to readers. I also post for Saturday Spankings most of the time.
  3. What are your favorite genres to read? Of course, I read a fair amount of spanking fiction and beta read for several people, so when I want to read something different it might be anything from true crime stories to biographies or an old favorite like Anne of Green Gables.
  4. Who has been your biggest influence in writing and or life? I think I'd have to say my mother. She's got a pretty strong personality, so for good or bad, she's been a major influence.
  5. What is your happiest memory? Driving home from the doctor's office after I found out I was pregnant. I was by myself in a pick up truck laughing and crying at the same time.
  6. Do you have a spanking relationship in real life? My husband and I do a little spanky-spank for fun now and then, but nothing like what I write about.
  7. Kirk or Picard? Picard! Sexy bald man...
  8. If you could only choose one implement to be spanked by (or spank with), what would it be? I think the hand. It's intimate and always available.
  9. Who is your favorite written character? Interesting question. I would say Judy Abbott from Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster. You can download this charming book for Free from Amazon because it's in the public domain. Click here. Seriously, give this book an hour and just see if you aren't totally charmed by Judy.
  10. If you could travel in time, what time period would you go to? Since I write Regency spanking romances you'd think I'd want to go back to Regency England, but their lack of running water and basic hygiene makes that not too appealing. However, since I am impatient and want to know what's going to happen next, I think I'd like to travel a few years into the future to see how things go for the people in my life.
  11. What grounds you? I have a sincere faith in God and a firm belief that He will see me through challenging times.
11 random facts about me.

1. I'm left handed.
2. I have lots of freckles.
3. My husband and I have recently moved in with my parents. Please see #11 above. :)
4. I'm a lawyer (though not currently practicing) and prefer to practice criminal defense.
5. I can knit and read on my kindle at the same time.
6. I'm hoping to convince my husband to go TV free in our little area of my parents' house. That doesn't mean I won't be watching online or on my Kindle Fire, but I'd really like to cut down.
7. I'm going to Romance Times Convention in New Orleans in May where I will get to meet Cara Bristol, Sue Lyndon, Nomandie Alleman, Maren Smith and Kate Richards (sorry if I left anyone out). I'm pretty darned excited.
8. I don't really like to watch movies and haven't been to a movie theater for about 5 years.
9. I make my own dog treats and laundry detergent.
10. I've turned my dad into a fan of Dancing With The Stars. We watch on "his" TV in the living room. (See number 6).
11. I know more about the Kardashians than I care to admit.

And here are my questions for them.

1. What is your fantasy vacation?
2. Cats or Dogs?
3. What's your favorite breakfast?
4. What's your guilty pleasure?
5. What's your favorite thing about blogging?
6. What's your least favorite thing about blogging?
7. If you could go back in time to your 18 year old self, what message would you give yourself?
8. If you had a day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?
9. What advice do you have for someone who is new to blogging?
10. What is one of your pet peeves?
11. What are some of the challenges of keeping your life as a spanking blogger/writer a secret?

    1. Thanks Roz. I'm pretty excited about the convention. I'm even going to get some clothes that aren't sweat pants to wear.

  2. Such fun tidbits, from the freckles to making your own dog treats. I assume you HAVE a dog? lol. Thank you for the nomination.

  3. LOL. Yes, I do have a dog. In fact, I have a feeling my parents think he's the best benefit of my husband and I moving in.

    1. Thanks Casey! I wonder if the Kardashians are spankers? I doubt it. What do you think?

  5. Loved your answers and fun facts. Picard, eh? I'd probably choose the same, mostly because of his voice, but did you know there was an episode where Kirk threatened to spank some alien woman? He threatened her with an "old Earth tradition called a spanking."

    1. Too funny! I'd still rather have Picard do the spanking.

  7. Criminal defense you say? That is a tough row to hoe. The problem is the clients. The only clients who are worse are musicians. (That's because they have no money to pay for your services).

    1. Not just criminal defense...but court appointed criminal defense. No wonder writing is more appealing.

  8. Thanks for nominating me! I feel honored just to be mentioned next to all the prolific real authors!
One of my favorite places is New Orleans. I have visited so many times. I think I have been about 15 times!
    I still have connections there!

    1. This is for bloggers, not authors and you are an outstanding blogger, especially with all the different colored fonts you use. :)

  9. Thank you Celeste! I'm looking forward to do this. I agree with you on not going back anywhere that doesn't have plenty of hot running water! My daughter is left handed also and I love the way she thinks!

    1. I agree about the hot water. They must have been a pretty smelly lot back in the day. Ick.

  11. DWTS has lost its sparkle without Brooke Burke Charbet, or their old band. We are soooo enjoying The Voice, with contestants that are hugely talented. (Unlike American Idol) I recommend you give it a try.

    1. You are so right about Brooke Vs. Erin. Erin is like a bull in a china shop on that show. Ugh. Just so rough around the edges. I wonder if she'll last.

I might give The Voice a chance, but given that my dad can barely hear, DWTS seems to be a better choice for him. He can at least watch the dancing. :)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  12. Loved your answers, Celeste.
Ok, how can you knot and do anything at the same time? LOL, I still have to use my leg, both hands, a forearm and my chest, to keep everything together. Maybe it's bc I am right handed? ;)

I used to love DWTS. I loved the Wonder Twins!
    Great post!
